The Endocannabinoid Receptor System

What is PCR CBD Oil?

PCR stands for PhytoCannabinoid Rich and is used to help distinguish superior CBD oils from others of a lesser grade with results backed up by 3rd party testing. Ashas' zero THC, PCR Hemp Oil has all of the cannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in hemp except for THC with 3rd party testing on each batch we receive.

So what is a Phytocannabinoid?

Phytocannabinoids are molecules synthesized by plants and the cannabis plant contains more than 110 known phytocannabinoids. Phytocannabinoids are being used to treat a variety of health issues in both humans and animals. These health issues occur mainly due to a Endocannabinoid deficiency.

The Endocannabinoid Receptor System

Humans and animals alike have a very large neurotransmitter system for cannabis called the Endocannabinoid Receptor System (ECS). If fact, its one of the largest in your body! We have a ECS because our brains naturally produce endocannabinoids.

Endo; means internal. Cannabinoid; means a group of closely related compounds which include cannabinol and the active parts of cannabis. Receptor; think of this as a lock waiting on a key and cannabis is the key.

Phytocannabinoid

Phyto means it comes from a plant. Cannabinoid relates to cannabis. There are two known groups of cannabinoid receptors; CB1 and CB2. When these receptors interact with cannabis they send molecular messages throughout the cells, tissues and organs of your body releasing the medical benefits for your body and mind just as if it was an Endocannabinoid produced by your own brain.
